ENGLISH TRAINER – Part Time

Job Description

As an English Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to students of varying proficiency levels. Your primary objective will be to help students improve their English language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, through engaging and interactive lessons. You will create lesson plans, develop instructional materials, and assess student progress to ensure effective learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver English language lessons that cater to the diverse needs and proficiency levels of students.
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans with clear learning objectives, instructional activities, and assessment strategies.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and techniques, including lectures, discussions, role-plays, games, and multimedia resources, to make learning engaging and effective.
  • Create and select appropriate learning materials, such as textbooks, worksheets, audiovisual aids, and online resources, to support lesson objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their English language skills.
  • Assess student progress through regular quizzes, tests, assignments, and speaking activities, and provide timely feedback on their performance.
  • Identify individual learning needs and tailor instruction to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to participate actively and take ownership of their learning.
  • Stay updated on developments in English language teaching methodologies, curriculum standards, and educational technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the overall improvement of the English language program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field. A TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or similar certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in teaching English as a second language to diverse groups of learners, preferably in an educational institution or language school.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • Knowledge of language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
  • Familiarity with language teaching resources and technologies, including language learning software, multimedia tools, and online platforms.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching and helping others succeed.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to plan and deliver lessons, assess student work, and provide feedback in a timely manner.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the diverse backgrounds and learning needs of students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to adapt teaching approaches based on feedback and reflection.
